We have successfully ported under GNU Linux ATLAS 9, the widely used stellar atmosphere modeling code, as well as both the SYNTHE suite of programs, its ``companion'' for spectral synthesis, and WIDTH, used to derive chemical abundances from equivalent widths of spectral lines. The porting has been realized by using the Intel Fortran Compiler. Our aim was to port the codes with the minimum possible amount of modifications: full compatibility with the VMS version has been maintained, along with…

The HST Large Program on ω Centauri. V. Exploring the Ultracool Dwarf Population with Stellar Atmosphere and Evolutionary Modeling
Brown dwarfs can serve as both clocks and chemical tracers of the evolutionary history of the Milky Way due to their continuous cooling and high sensitivity of spectra to composition. We focus on
GAUFRE: A tool for an automated determination of atmospheric parameters from spectroscopy
We present an automated tool for measuring atmospheric parameters (T eff , log  g ), [Fe/H]) for F-G-K dwarf and giant stars. The tool, called GAUFRE, is composed of several routines written in C++:
Automated Extraction of DIBs from Cool Star Spectra
Abstract We have developed a method allowing to extract DIBs from cool star spectra, based on combinations of stellar synthetic, telluric transmission (when necessary), and DIB profile models. It is
Observational Properties of GSC 2855-0585 in the Vicinity of the Eclipsing Binary V432 Per
During the photometric runs of the eclipsing binary V432 Per in 2006, we serendipitously discovered peculiar light variations of GSC 2855-0585 that imaged on the same target field. Its brightness
Lithium in a metal-poor external galaxy: ω Centauri
Abstract ω Centauri is a massive stellar system which is currently going through the Galactic Halo. Its compact aspect and spheroidal shape have for a long time led to it being classified as a
In this study, elemental abundances in the atmosphere of HD 94264 (K0 III) will be analyzed. This star is selected from Catalog of Red Clump (RC) candidates in Tycho-2. It is a RC candidate with a
Investigation of the helium enhancement in a super lithium-rich giant HD 77361
In this work, the helium-enhancement (He-enhancement) in the lithium-rich (Li-rich) K-giant HD 77361 is investigated using the strengths of the MgH band and the Mg  i lines. The detailed abundance
The ESO-VLT MIKiS Survey Reloaded: Velocity Dispersion Profile and Rotation Curve of NGC 1904
We present an investigation of the internal kinematic properties of M79 (NGC 1904). Our study is based on radial velocity measurements obtained from the ESO-VLT Multi-Instrument Kinematic Survey
The multi-line slope method for measuring the effective magnetic field of cool stars: an application to the solar-like cycle of ε Eri
A method for the determination of integrated longitudinal stellar fields from low-resolution spectra is the so-called slope method, which is based on the regression of the Stokes V signal against the
Globular Clusters and the Halos of Dwarf Galaxies
Many dwarf galaxies have disproportionately rich globular cluster (GC) systems for their luminosities. Moreover, the GCs tend to be preferentially associated with the most metal-poor stellar
