Hyperlipidemia is a common finding in uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and patients with DM generally show alteration in lipid profile, notably in triglycerides value. Research done in the past has pointed out the usefulness of Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) as a useful parameter for the diagnosis of Type 2 DM.
