Abstract This paper presents ARK, a minimal, XML-based configuration language and framework for our particular problem domain: UNIX System Administration. The language allows the capture of poorly structured configuration data and code fragments written in various programming languages, while the ARK engine is responsible for interpreting the XML and allowing applications to query data and invoke code fragments.
