ANTICONVULSANT ACTIVITY OF MORINGA OLEIFERA L EAF
@inproceedings{AmrutiaJay2011ANTICONVULSANTAO, title={ANTICONVULSANT ACTIVITY OF MORINGA OLEIFERA L EAF}, author={N AmrutiaJay and Lala Minaxi and Moses Rajan Semuel}, year={2011} }
Moringa oleifera which is commonly kn own as drumstick tree has been used for its nutrition value and extensively used as a CNS depressant traditionally. Present work has been carried out to evaluate the anticonvulsant activity of methanolic extract of M. oleifera leaves against pentylenetetra zole (PTZ) and maximal electroshock (MES) induce d convulsions at different dose level (200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg i.p.). Diazepam and phenytoin (5mg/kg i.p. and 25mg/kg i.p., respectively) were used as a…

ANTICONVULSANT ACTIVITY OF MORINGA OLEIFERA IN SWISS ALBINO MICE
- Medicine
- 2015
The data suggests that the ethanolic extracts Moringa oleifera leaves may produce its anticonvulsant effect via different mechanisms since it prevented the hind limb extension induced by MES, decreased the duration of convulsions produced by PTZ and abolished status epilepticus in pilocarpine induced seizures.
