Marine lobsters are defined as consisting of four infraorders of decapod crustaceans: Astacidea, Glypheidea, Achelata and Polychelida. Together they form the suborder Macrura Reptantia. A checklist of the currently recognized six families, 55 genera and 248 species (with four subspecies) of living marine lobsters is provided, together with their synonyms in recent literature and information on the type locality of the valid taxa. Notes on alternative taxonomies and justifications for the choice…

A new species of the clawed lobster genus Nephropsis Wood-Mason, 1872, collected recently by the South Java Deep-Sea Biodiversity Expedition (SJADES 2018) off the southern coast of Java in Indonesia,
New Records of Deep-Sea Blind Lobsters (Crustacea: Decapoda: Polychelidae) from Taiwan
TLDR
A total of 13 species in four genera of Polychelidae are now known from Taiwan; a key to the species is provided.
First record of the rare Furry Lobster Palinurellus wieneckii (De Man, 1881) (Decapoda: Palinuridae) from the Arabian Sea
Two female specimens of the Furry Lobster Palinurellus wieneckii (De Man, 1881) with a total length of 118mm and 114mm, respectively, were obtained from the coral reefs off Kavaratti Island,
Additional slipper lobsters of the subfamily Scyllarinae Latreille, 1825 (Crustacea, Achelata, Scyllaridae) from Taiwan.
TLDR
Nine genera and 17 species of scyllarine lobsters are now known from Taiwan, with the distributions of B. rubens, C. aureus and P. veliger extended northwards to Taiwan.
Phylogeny and Systematics of Extant and Extinct Lobsters
TLDR
A phylogenetic analysis including representatives from 44 extinct and 27 extant families of lobsters resulted in the recognition of one new superfamily, Glaessnericarioidea, and three new families, Glasnericariidae, Neoglypheidae, and Litogastroidae.
A new erymoid lobster (Decapoda: Glypheidea: Erymidae) from the Upper Cretaceous of British Columbia, Canada, and a summary of Erymoidea from North America
The description of a new species of an erymid lobster, Stenodactylina beardi, from the Upper Cretaceous Haslam Formation of the Nanaimo Group on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, brings
Family, generic and species synonymies of recently published taxa of ghost shrimps (Decapoda, Axiidea, Eucalliacidae and Ctenochelidae): cautionary tales
TLDR
Comparison of the holotype of Tosacallianassa hatasagaensis Sakai, 2016 with several published figures of Ctenocheles balssi Kishinouye, 1926 has similarly found their genera and species synonymous.
Annotated checklist of New Zealand Decapoda (Arthropoda: Crustacea)
TLDR
A checklist of the Recent Decapoda (shrimps, prawns, lobsters, crayfish and crabs) of the New Zealand region is given, with 153 (31%) of the species considered endemic.
First record of an adult Galapagos slipper lobster, Scyllarides astori, (Decapoda, Scyllaridae) from Isla del Coco, Eastern Tropical Pacific
TLDR
The first record of an adult S. astori from Isla del Coco and Costa Rican Pacific waters is presented, a single specimen, a male, was hand-collected within a coral reef in Pájara islet and increases the reported lobster species richness of Costa Rica Pacific waters to six species.

TLDR
A checklist of the 870 current valid species of squat lobsters of the world (families Chirostylidae, Galatheidae and Kiwaidae) is presented and includes the complete taxonomic synonymy and geographical distribution of each species.
Thaumastochelopsis wardi, gen. et sp. nov., a New Blind Deep-sea Lobster from the Coral Sea (Crustacea : Decapoda : Nephropidea)
TLDR
The discovery of a new genus and species in the Coral Sea is the first occurrence in the Southern Hemisphere and provides additional knowledge of this littleknown lobster family.
Global diversity of crabs (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura) in freshwater
TLDR
Estimates of true freshwater crab diversity including likely numbers of undescribed taxa suggest that the field remains largely in a “discovery” phase.
A NEW SLIPPER LOBSTER OF THE GENUS PETRARCTUS (CRUSTACEA: DECAPODA: SCYLLARIDAE) FROM THE WEST PACIFIC
TLDR
A new species of slipper lobster, Petrarctus holthuisi, new species, is found from the recent expeditions to the Philippines and Vanuatu and the molecular genetic analysis suggests that the recent separation of Scyllarus sensu lato may need to be revised.

TLDR
The constitution of a large number of families and superfamilies is discussed in detail, with the positions of some taxa rearranged in an attempt to form a stable base for future taxonomic studies.
The Rare Lobster Genus Thaumastocheles (Decapoda: Thaumastochelidae) From the Indo-pacific, With Description of a New Species
TLDR
Abundant material of the rare lobster genus Thaumastocheles, recently collected from Taiwan, led to an extensive survey of the Indo-Pacific specimens of this genus deposited at various institutions, and 2 distinct species are recognized.
Global diversity of shrimps (Crustacea: Decapoda: Caridea) in freshwater
TLDR
With the exception of Antarctica, freshwater shrimp are present in all biogeographical regions, however, the Oriental region harbours the majority of species, whilst the Nearctic and western Palaearctic are very species-poor.

TLDR
The white whisker form of Panulirus longipes femoristriga is shown to be a new species and data from allozyme analysis shows that they are genetically distinct.
Nephropid lobsters from the Indian Ocean with descriptions of four new species (Crustacea: Decapoda: Nephropidae)
TLDR
In the northern part of the Indian Ocean the nephropids are found deeper compared to their depth range in other areas, thought to be a result of warm, deep water masses from the Red Sea and the Gulf of Oman.
