Simple, accurate, precise, sensitive and validated HPLC-PDA method was developed for simultaneous estimation of Guggulsterone E (GGE), Guggulsterone Z (GGZ), 11-keto-β-boswellic acid (KBBA), 3Acetyl 11-keto-βboswellic acid (AKBBA), polyherbal formulation. The gradient reverse phase HPLC method was performed on Zorbax C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm id), using a mobile phase consisting of phosphoric acid (pH 2.0) and acetonitrile in solvent gradient elution for 60 minutes at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min… Expand

Effect of calcitonin in early and late stages of experimentally induced osteoarthritis. A histomorphometric study.
TLDR
In prophylactic stages salmon calcitonin seemed to inhibit the progression of osteoarthritis by increasing the layers of hyaline cartilage, restoring the cellular metabolism, and decreasing the volume of osteophytes. Expand
Clinical features of symptomatic patellofemoral joint osteoarthritis
TLDR
Early isolated PFJOA is clinically manifest in symptoms and self-reported functional limitation but has fewer clear clinical signs, whereas more advanced disease is indicated by a small number of simple-to-assess signs and the relative absence of classic signs of knee OA. Expand
Guidelines for the medical management of osteoarthritis. Part II. Osteoarthritis of the knee. American College of Rheumatology.
TLDR
The role of joint lavage and arthroscopic debridement in patients with OA of the knee who are unresponsive to conservative medical therapy needs further study, and these procedures cannot be routinely recommended for all patients at this time. Expand
Guidelines for the medical management of osteoarthritis. Part I. Osteoarthritis of the hip. American College of Rheumatology.
TLDR
Patients with severe symptomatic OA of the hip require an aggressive approach to decreasing pain, increasing mobility, and improving function; such patients may benefit from orthopedic consultation and evaluation for osteotomy or total joint arthroplasty. Expand
Guidelines for the medical management of osteoarthritis
TLDR
Differences in approach and treatment strategies which are unique to OA of the knee, including the role of intraarticular corticosteroid injections, will be discussed. Expand
