In order to analyze increasingly common 3D image data, new techniques are required. Some of these techniques can be derived from traditional 2D image processing, while others must be created for a particular problem. Using various 3D techniques, we are analyzing high resolution tomographic data of concrete in order to study its fracture energy and permeability.
