AN INTERTEMPORAL GENERAL EQUILIBRIUM MODEL OF ASSET PRICES
@article{Cox1985ANIG, title={AN INTERTEMPORAL GENERAL EQUILIBRIUM MODEL OF ASSET PRICES}, author={John C. Cox and Jonathan E. Ingersoll and Stephen A. Ross}, journal={Econometrica}, year={1985}, volume={53}, pages={363-384} }
This paper develops a continuous time general equilibrium model of a simple but complete economy and uses it to examine the behavior of asset prices. In this model, asset prices and their stochastic properties are determined endogenously. One principal result is a partial differential equation which asset prices must satisfy. The solution of this equation gives the equilibrium price of any asset in terms of the underlying real variables in the economy. IN THIS PAPER, we develop a general…

General Equilibrium Asset Pricing Under Regime Switching

- 2007
In this paper, we have developed a continuous time general equilibrium model in an economy which has two states, a 'good' state and a 'bad' state. There are two types of shocks in the economy: small…

This paper is a theoretical examination of the stochastic behavior of equilibrium asset prices in an economy consisting of a production process controlled by a state variable representing the state…

In this article we derive necessary and sufficient conditions that must be satisfied by equilibrium asset price processes in apure exchange economy. We examine a world in which asset prices follow a…

This is a survey of the basic theoretical foundations of intertemporal asset pricing theory. The broader theory is first reviewed in a simple discrete-time setting, emphasizing the key role of state…
Asset Prices in an Exchange Economy with Money and Trade

We show, in an exchange economy with liquidity constraints, that state prices in a complete markets general equilibrium are a function of the supply of liquidity by the Central Bank. Our model is…
Comparative Statics of General Equilibrium Asset Prices

I study comparative statics of asset prices in a representative-agent model where dividends are vector-geometric Brownian motions. Due to wealth eects, the equilibrium relative price of a security…
Intertemporal production and asset pricing: a duality approach

This paper analyzes a firm's intertemporal optimization problem under uncertainty and presents a new asset pricing model from the vantage point of the production side of the economy using the duality…
Equilibrium Exchange Rates and a Popular Model of International Asset Demands: An Inconsistency
- Economics

Many of the continous time Ito process models of international asset demand deal with the simplest case of geometric Brownian motion processes for asset prices and exchange rates. Following the…
