The present study focus on the lipid lowering potential of aqueous ethanolic extract of Eugenia caryophyllus in high fat diet induced hyperlipidemia. Hyperlipidemia was induced in rats by oral administration of high fat diet for six weeks. The extract was thereafter administered at two different doses of 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg body weight for next six weeks to hyperlipidemic rats. Atorvastatin was used as a reference standard.
