Twelve years after publication of the floristic treatment “Las Gramineas de Durango”, a list of accepted names is updated based on recent botanical work in Durango, Mexico. Ninety-one genera, 367 species, 15 subspecies, 55 varieties and 2 forms are included. Of these, 14 genera are newly recognized for Durango, whereas 17 genera previously reported from the state are now treated as synonyms, and three genera previously recorded are excluded. At the specific and infraspecific levels, 46 changes… Expand

A taxonomic revision of Bromus (Poaceae: Pooideae: Bromeae) in Mexico and Central America
TLDR
A taxonomic treatment of Bromus in Mexico and Central America is presented, with newly described Bromus section Mexibrom us representing a distinct lineage in molecular studies of the genus. Expand
New combinations and updated descriptions in Podagrostis (Agrostidinae, Poaceae) from the Neotropics and Mexico.
Based on morphological study and corroborated by unpublished molecular phylogenetic analyses, five grass species of high-mountain grasslands in Mexico, Central and South America, Agrostis bacillata,Expand
Riqueza de especies, clasificación y listado de las gramíneas (Poaceae) de México
Background and Aims: In 2006 the catalogue of the grasses of Mexico was published, but since then, the classification as well as new species to science changed the numbers of the family in Mexico andExpand
Identidad y distribución de Bouteloua reederorum (Poaceae: Chloridoideae), una especie endémica de México
TLDR
The aim of the present work is to clarify the identity of B. reederorum and provide a detailed morphological description with photographs of important structures for its identification, as well as a distribution map for this species. Expand

Hopia, a new monotypic genus segregated from Panicum (Poaceae)
TLDR
The species of Panicum obtusum, a species ranging from Southern United States to Central Mexico and previously classified in subg. Expand
Nomenclatural changes for some grasses in California and the Muhlenbergia Clade (Poaceae).
TLDR
L Lolium, long known to be phylogenetically nested within Festuca, is here subsumed into Festuca and the circumscription of Stipa is expanded to include all Stipeae (native and nonnative) in California. Expand
A phylogeny and classification of the Muhlenbergiinae (Poaceae: Chloridoideae: Cynodonteae) based on plastid and nuclear DNA sequences.
TLDR
The phylograms suggest that Muhlenbergia originated in North America because the sister (Sohnsia filifolia and Scleropogoninae) is composed of predominantly North American species. Expand
Zuloagaea, a New Genus of Neotropical Grass Within the “Bristle Clade” (Poaceae: Paniceae)
TLDR
The conclusion is to erect a new genus, Zuloagaea, to accommodate section Bulbosa, and find no distinct morphological groups within the section, and hence conclude that the group represents a single species. Expand
Poa Matri-occidentalis (Poaceae: Pooideae: Poeae: Poinae), a New Species from Mexico
TLDR
The new species is morphologically similar to Poa kelloggii but differs by having leaf sheaths that are closed near the base 2/3 to 4/5 their length, entire ligules that are 3.5-6 mm long, nodding panicles, ovate lemmas with obtuse to acute apices, and non-visible rachilla internodes. Expand
Proposal for an Expanded Distichlis (Poaceae, Chloridoideae): Support from Molecular, Morphological, And Anatomical Characters
TLDR
The nuclear and chloroplast phylogenies indicate that Monanthochloë and Reederochloa are nested within a paraphyleticdistichlis, and a number of structural characters, including leaf blade length, number of spikelets per inflorescence, and number of florets per spikelet, also fall within the range of variation in Distichlis. LISTADO FLORISTICO Y ASPECTOS ECOLÓGICOS DE LA FAMILIA POACEAE PARA CHIHUAHUA, DURANGO Y ZACATECAS, MEXICO
We present a floristic checklist of the Poaceae in three north-central states of Mexico (Chihuahua, Durango and Zacatecas), results of investigations being carried out in the herbarium CIIDIR of IPNExpand
A molecular phylogeny and classification of Leptochloa (Poaceae: Chloridoideae: Chlorideae) sensu lato and related genera.
TLDR
The molecular results support the dissolution of Leptochloa s.l. is polyphyletic and strong support was found for five lineages. Expand
Muhlenbergia tarahumara (Poaceae: Choridoideae: Cynodonteae: Muhlenbergiinae), a new species from Chihuahua, Mexico
TLDR
Based on morphological and phylogenetic analysis of plastid and nuclear dna sequence data, it is concluded that the new species is sister to the aegopogon clade that is nested within a clade of species in Muhlenbergia subgen. Expand
Phylogenetic studies favour the unification of Pennisetum, Cenchrus and Odontelytrum (Poaceae): a combined nuclear, plastid and morphological analysis, and nomenclatural combinations in Cenchrus.
TLDR
Due to the consistency between the present results and different phylogenetic hypotheses, and the high support found for the PCO clade, also including the type species of the three genera, the proposed unification of Pennisetum, Cenchrus and Odontelytrum is proposed. Expand
