The research objective was to know ability of antagonistic microbes to control bacterial wilt on potato in the field. This research was carried out at Serang Village, Karangreja Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency from June up to August 2012. The antagonist, originally isolated from potato field, was Bacillus sp. B2 and B4, and Pseudomonas sp. P19 and P20. Based on the research result, Pseudomonas P19 could control the disease on potato with delaying incubation period of 78.95%, suppressing… Expand

BIO-CONTROL OF POTATO BACTERIAL WILT CAUSED BY Ralstonia solanacearum ISOLATED FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES
TLDR
Seventeen pathogenic isolates of brown rot pathogen were collected from field soil, potato tubers, weeds and irrigation water at major potato districts in Egypt and revealed the ability of the isolates to cause wilt symptoms in potted potato plant and three leaved tomato seedlings. Expand

Review: Fruit collapse and heart rot disease in pineapple: Pathogen characterization, ultrastructure infections of plant and cell mechanism resistance
TLDR
This review suggests that future research to tackle fruit collapse and bacterial heart rot can be focused on disease-resistant mechanisms, and their effects on the cell wall status with an enzymatic characterization. Expand
PEMANFAATAN PLANT GROWTH PROMOTING RHIZOBACTERIA (PGPR) DALAM MENINGKATAKAN POLA PERTUMBUHAN BAWANG MERAH LOKAL (Allium ascalonicum L) SABU RAIJUA NTT
TLDR
Red Onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) Sabu Raijua is one of the horticultural crops that is widely consumed by the people of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as a mixture of cooking spices and traditional medicines and the higher concentration of PGPR can increase the growth pattern of local onion Sabuaryajua plants. Enhanced plant growth by siderophores produced by plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria
TLDR
Evidence is presented that PGPR exert their plant growth-promoting activity by depriving native microflora of iron by producing extracellular siderophores (microbial iron transport agents) which efficiently complex environmental iron, making it less available to certain nativemicroflora. Expand
Ralstonia solanacearum Race 3 Biovar 2 Causes Tropical Losses and Temperate Anxieties
TLDR
This practical review emphasizes prevention, detection, diagnosis, and effective management of diseases caused by R. solanacearum Race 3 biovar 2, which causes potato brown rot and Southern wilt of geranium. Expand
Role of chitinase and beta-1,3-glucanase activities produced by a fluorescent pseudomonad and in vitro inhibition of Phytophthora capsici and Rhizoctonia solani.
TLDR
It is confirmed that multiple mechanisms are involved in suppressing phytopathogens as evidenced by the involvement of chitinase and beta-1,3-glucanase in inhibition of R. solani but not P. capsici by isolate GRC3. Expand
