A flat band can be studied an infinitely strong coupling, realized in a simple system. Therefore, its holographic realization should be interesting. Laia and Tong gave a realization of the flat band over the entire momentum region by introducing a particular boundary term. Here, we give a model with a flat band over a finite region of momentum space using a bulk interaction term instead of the boundary term. We find that the spectrum of our model is precisely analogous to that of the ABC…

Chiral decomposition in the electronic structure of graphene multilayers

and byhopes that these elegantly tunable systems might be usefulelectronic materials. In this paper, we demonstrate an unan-ticipated low-energy property of graphene multilayers, whichfollows from an

Extremely flat band in bilayer graphene

It is argued that the two-dimensional flat band model and the experimental results have the potential to contribute to achieving superconductivity of graphene- or graphite-based systems at elevated temperatures.

Electronic properties of graphene multilayers.

It is shown that the quasiparticle decay rate has a minimum as a function of energy, there is a universal minimum value for the in-plane conductivity of order e(2)/h per plane and, unexpectedly, the c-axis conductivity is enhanced by disorder at low doping, leading to an enormous conductivity anisotropy at low temperatures.

Holographic Lieb lattice and gapping its Dirac band

: We first point out that the Laia-Tong model realizes the Lieb lattice in the holographic setup. It generates a flat band of sharp particle spectrum together with a Dirac band of unparticle spectrum.

Flat electronic bands in long sequences of rhombohedral-stacked graphene

The crystallographic stacking order in multilayer graphene plays an important role in determining its electronic properties. It has been predicted that a rhombohedral (ABC) stacking displays a

We investigate the occurrence of magnetic and charge density wave instabilities in rhombohedral-stacked multilayer (three to eight layers) graphene by first principles calculations including exact

Interlayer screening effect in graphene multilayers with A B A and A B C stacking

We study the effect of perpendicular electric fields on the band structures of $ABA$ and $ABC$ graphene multilayers, and find that the electronic screening effect is significantly different between

Flat bands in slightly twisted bilayer graphene: Tight-binding calculations

The presence of flat bands near Fermi level has been proposed as an explanation for high transition temperature superconductors. The bands of graphite are extremely sensitive to topological defects

Observation of a Localized Flat-Band State in a Photonic Lieb Lattice.

The first experimental realization of a dispersionless state is demonstrated, in a photonic Lieb lattice formed by an array of optical waveguides, which opens an exciting door towards quantum simulation of flat-band models in a highly controllable environment.

Correlated states in twisted double bilayer graphene

Electron–electron interactions play an important role in graphene and related systems and can induce exotic quantum states, especially in a stacked bilayer with a small twist angle 1 – 7 . For
