  • Influence of nitrite on two fish species, Eurasian perch (Perca fluviatilis L.) and largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides Lacépède), was assessed in two acute toxicity tests. In the first one, lethal concentrations (48hLC50) of nitrite were estimated at 11 mg l−1 NO2− for perch and 882 mg l−1 NO2− for bass. In the second test, fishes were exposed for 48 h to concentrations representing ¼ and ½ value of 48hLC50 for each species.
