This paper presents a transformerless electronic converter topology for PDLC applications. In order to meet the PDLC ON/OFF state requirements, the converter must be able to supply an AC @1 kHz signal with different voltage levels, which correspond to different transparency levels. The converter will be connected directly to the electrical socket outlet and will use three conversion stages (AC - DC, DC - DC, DC - AC) to meet the PDLC's requirements.
