Abstract The genus Leptodrepana Shaw was described in 1983, but prior to the current study only one Neotropical species had been described from Mexico and none were named from Costa Rica. In this paper twenty-four new species are described and named from Costa Rica: L. alexisae Dadelahi & Shaw, sp. n., L. atalanta Dadelahi & Shaw, sp. n., L. conda Dadelahi & Shaw, sp. n., L. conleyae Dadelahi & Shaw, sp. n., L. demeter Dadelahi & Shaw, sp. n., L. eckerti Dadelahi & Shaw, sp. n., L. gauldilox…

Minimalist revision and description of 403 new species in 11 subfamilies of Costa Rican braconid parasitoid wasps, including host records for 219 species
TLDR
Three new genera are described: Michener (Proteropinae), Bioalfa ( Rogadinae) and Hermosomastax (Rogadinaes) and a consensus sequence of the COI barcodes possessed by each species is employed to diagnose the species, and this approach is justified in the introduction.
Widespread Occurrence of Black-Orange-Black Color Pattern in Hymenoptera
TLDR
The widespread occurrence of this color pattern in Hymenoptera strongly suggests convergent evolution and a potentially important function.
