Equilibrium and kinetic aspects of Triton X-100 adsorption onto hydrophobic Bio-Beads SM2 were investigated in detail using the batch procedure originally described by Holloway, P.W. (1973) Anal. Biochem. 53, 304-308. The results demonstrated the importance of the initial detergent concentration, the amount of beads, the commercial source of the detergent, the temperature and the presence of phospholipids in determining the rates of Triton X-100 adsorption onto Bio-Beads.
