The present state of knowledge of the scolytine ambrosia beetles of Thailand is summarised to provide a basis for future studies of the fauna and its economic importance in forestry, timber production and crop tree plantations. A checklist of the fauna is provided with information on local and world distribution, host trees, biology and taxonomy. Six faunal elements based on geographical distribution, and the host tree and altitudinal preferences of species are discussed. One hundred and sixty…

Evaluation of the diversity of Scolitids (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in the forest plantations of the central zone of the Ecuadorian littoral

The greatest diversity of Scolitids was recorded in the balsa plantation, which is a native species, unlike the other forest species, which are exotic, indicating that the diversity would be influenced by the host tree and the location where they are found.

Revision of the xyleborine ambrosia beetle genus Microperus Wood, 1980 (Curculionidae, Scolytinae, Xyleborini) of Thailand with four new species and four newly recorded species

With the inclusion of the Micro perus species described and recorded herein, the diversity of Microperus is increased to 35 species, of which 18 are recorded in Thailand, and the taxonomy, diagnostic characters, and distribution of species are briefly discussed.

Taxonomic clarification and neotype designation for three Indian xyleborine species (Coleoptera: Curculionidae, Scolytinae).

Xyleborini currently consists of more than 1168 species in 36 genera, nearly all of which were described in Xyleborus, and the tribe has been the focus of considerable taxonomic attention over the last decade.

Ten newly recorded species of xyleborine ambrosia beetles (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Scolytinae, Xyleborini) from Thailand

Ten species of ambrosia beetles of the tribe Xyleborini, including Amasabeesoni, Amasaopalescens, Amasacylindrotomica, Arixyleborushirsutulus Schedl, 1969, Beaveriumlatus, and Cyclorhipidionvigilans are recorded here for the first time in Thailand.

New Non-native Pseudocryptic Cyclorhipidion Species (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae: Xyleborini) Found in the United States as Revealed in a Multigene Phylogeny

It is found that the pattern of elytral interstrial setae is an unrealized source for the identification of Cyclorhipidion species, resulting in the recognition of six species adventive to the United States with the revised status of C. californicum.

Cladistic analysis of Indocryphalus Eggers (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae: Xyloterini) and description of a new species from Vietnam

A cladistic analysis of all nine species based on 22 morphological characters found I. suongmuand I. machiliWood as sister species and species relationships, character evolution and patterns of ecology/geography were discussed in context of the cladogram.

New Area Records and New Hosts of Ambrosiodmus minor (Stebbing) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) in Mainland China

The authors' records from mainland China considerably broaden the known range of this species in Asia into non-tropical regions, and further describe the differences between A. minor and A. lewisi.

Diversity of Curculionoidea in Humid Rain Forest Canopies of Borneo: A Taxonomic Blank Spot

A largely unknown fauna with an assumed proportion of over 80% of species new to science, including all 33 Apionidae and 26 Ceutorhynchinae species is found on Borneo.

A monograph of the Xyleborini (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Scolytinae) of the Indochinese Peninsula (except Malaysia) and China

The Southeast Asian xyleborine ambrosia beetle fauna is reviewed, illustrated, and keyed to genera and species, with sixty-three new species described.
