Summary and ConclusionsThe sex ratio of 1:1 is similar to that of other surveys reviewed. Rectal bleeding was the most common symptom. Anemia was equally distributed. There was a five-year survival rate of 33.6 per cent for all patients operated upon for carcinoma of the colon and the five-year survival rate for all patients who underwent curative surgical procedures was 43 per cent.
