Abstract Various internal standards and analytical methods were investigated using certified reference materials to evaluate the accuracy of the quantitation of the total As in seafood. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used to measure the total arsenic. Enhancement of the total arsenic in its concentration caused by the methanol matrix was clearly observed.
