Alzheimer's is a disease that causes dementia disorders. Alzheimer's dementia is the most common form of dementia in modern society (affects more than 20 million people around the world). Currently, the only effective treatment for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) targets the cholinergic system using inhibitors of cholinesterase (ChE).
