BACKGROUND Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is increasingly being investigated as a potential treatment for a number of psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia. Previous rTMS studies have targeted the left-side prefrontal cortex (PFC) in the treatment of negative symptoms, with inconsistent findings.
