A bstractWe perform a phenomenological study of the invariant mass distribution of hadronic jets produced in proton-proton collisions, in conjunction with a grooming algorithm. In particular, we consider the modified MassDrop Tagger (mMDT), which corresponds to Soft Drop with angular exponent β = 0. Our calculation, which is differential in both jet mass and jet transverse momentum, resums large logarithms of the jet mass, including the full dependence on the groomer’s energy threshold zcut…

The groomed and ungroomed jet mass distribution for inclusive jet production at the LHC

A bstractWe study jet mass distributions measured in the single inclusive jet production in proton-proton collisions pp → jet+X at the LHC. We consider both standard ungroomed jets as well as soft

Transverse momentum spectra at threshold for groomed heavy quark jets

A bstractWe present the transverse momentum spectrum for a heavy hadron at threshold in a groomed jet initiated by a heavy quark. The cross section is doubly differential in the energy fraction of an

Probing transverse-momentum distributions with groomed jets

Abstract We present the transverse momentum spectrum of groomed jets in di-jet events for e + e − collisions and semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS). The jets are groomed using a

Jet angularities in Z+jet production at the LHC

Abstract We present a phenomenological study of angularities measured on the highest transverse-momentum jet in LHC events that feature the associate production of a Z boson and one or more jets. In

Probing transverse-momentum dependent evolution with groomed jets

A bstractWe propose an observable which involves measuring the properties (transverse momentum ph⊥ and energy fraction zh) of an identified hadron inside a groomed jet. The jet is identified with an

Nonperturbative corrections to soft drop jet mass

Abstract We provide a quantum field theory based description of the nonperturbative effects from hadronization for soft drop groomed jet mass distributions using the soft- collinear effective

Factorized Groomed Jet Mass Distribution in Inclusive Jet Processes

We consider the factorized groomed jet mass distribution in inclusive jet processes by using a modified mass drop tagger (mMDT), corresponding to a soft drop with angular exponent β = 0. A grooming

Dynamical Grooming meets LHC data

Abstract In this work, we analyse the all-orders resummation structure of the momentum sharing fraction, zg, opening angle, θg, and relative transverse momentum, kt,g, of the splitting tagged by the

Phenomenology of jet angularities at the LHC

Abstract We compute resummed and matched predictions for jet angularities in hadronic dijet and Z+jet events with and without grooming the candidate jets using the SoftDrop technique. Our

N-Subjettiness for boosted jets

Jet substructure tools have proven useful in a number of high-energy particle-physics studies. A particular case is the discrimination, or tagging, between a boosted jet originated from an

Resummation of Jet Mass at Hadron Colliders

A method is developed for calculating the jet mass distribution at hadron colliders using an expansion about the kinematic threshold. In particular, we consider the mass distribution of jets of size

On jet mass distributions in Z+jet and dijet processes at the LHC

A bstractThe mass distribution of jets produced in hard processes at the LHC plays an important role in several jet substructure related studies involving both Standard Model and BSM physics,

Factorization for groomed jet substructure beyond the next-to-leading logarithm

A bstractJet grooming algorithms are widely used in experimental analyses at hadron colliders to remove contaminating radiation from within jets. While the algorithms perform a great service to the

Non-perturbative QCD effects in jets at hadron colliders

We discuss non-perturbative QCD contributions to jet observables, computing their dependence on the jet radius R, and on the colour and transverse momentum of the parton initiating the jet. We show,

Inclusive jet spectrum for small-radius jets

A bstractFollowing on our earlier work on leading-logarithmic (LLR) resummations for the properties of jets with a small radius, R, we here examine the phenomenological considerations for the

Factorization and resummation for jet processes

A bstractFrom a detailed analysis of cone-jet cross sections in effective field theory, we obtain novel factorization theorems which separate the physics associated with different energy scales

Jet Mass Spectra in Higgs + One Jet at NNLL

The invariant mass of a jet is a benchmark variable describing the structure of jets at the LHC. We calculate the jet mass spectrum for Higgs plus one jet at the LHC at next-to-next-to-leading

Systematics of quark/gluon tagging

A bstractBy measuring the substructure of a jet, one can assign it a “quark” or “gluon” tag. In the eikonal (double-logarithmic) limit, quark/gluon discrimination is determined solely by the color
