A study of cnidimin and its identification with libanotin

Abstract

The isolation and separation of the coumarins was carried out by a known procedure [4]. The roots of H. w i l h N m sii yielded five substances in the pure crystalIine state which were identif ied as osthole (ClsH1604, mp 83-84* C), pimpinell in (C13H1005, mp 117-119") , isopimpineil in (ClaH10Oh, mp 148-149 ° C), isobergapten (CI2HsO4, mp 218--222 ° C), and sphondin (C12H804, mp 190-192 ° C).
