We have developed polymer solar cells featuring a buffer layer of polythiophene (PT) sandwiched between the active layer and the poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) layer. We attribute the improvement in power conversion efficiency of these polymer solar cells, relative to that of those based on poly(3-hexylthiophene):[6,6]-phenyl-C(61)-butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT:PCBM), to a reduction in the degree of carrier recombination at the junction interface. Self-assembly of carboxylated polythiophene nanowires for improved bulk heterojunction morphology in polymer solar cells
Conjugated regioregular poly[3-(5-carboxypentyl) thiophene-2,5-diyl] (P3CPenT), a derivative of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), is introduced as a hole transport layer (HTL) for P3HT:PCBM plastic
Cyclic potential growth mechanism for electropolymerized polythiophenes as anode buffer layers in P3HT–PCBM solar cells
A new method for electropolymerization of polythiophenes as anode buffer layer in combination with a PEDOT:PSS buffer in P3HT–PCBM solar cells is introduced. This approach uses a stack of PEDOT:PSS
Indium tin oxide modified with sodium compounds as cathode of inverted polymer solar cells
Polymer solar cells (PSCs) with inverted structure can greatly improve the photovoltaic stability. This paper reports surface modification of indium tin oxide (ITO) by spin coating a thin layer of
Solution-processed nanocrystalline TiO2 buffer layer used for improving the performance of organic photovoltaics.
TLDR
The fabricated OPV devices with the thermally stable TiO(2) buffer layer are subjected to the further postdeposition thermal annealing, resulting in a power conversion efficiency (PCE) as high as 3.94%.
Organic solar cells featuring nanobowl structures
Although organic solar cells having a bilayer configuration provide continuous conducting pathways for carrier transport to the requisite electrodes, their efficiencies have remained low because of
Benzodifuran‐containing well‐defined π‐conjugated polymers for photovoltaic cells
Two well-defined alternating p-conjugated polymers containing a soluble electroactive benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']difuran (BDF) chromophore, poly(BDF-(9-phenylcarbazole)) (PBDFC), and
Effects of Oxidation State and Crystallinity of Tungsten Oxide Interlayer on Photovoltaic Property in Bulk Hetero-Junction Solar Cell
Tungsten oxide thin films with thickness of ∼30 nm are prepared from ammonium tungstate solution to be used as a hole-selective interlayer in the poly(3-hexylthiophene):[6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid
