Low-frequency, rhythmic synaptic potentials and their ability to evoke and modulate membrane potential oscillations in thalamocortical (TC) cells of the cat dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus (dLGN) were investigated using intracellular recordings in a brain slice preparation.
