Abstract Ten species of the genus Naubates Bedford, 1930 are recognised, including two new species: N. (Guenterion) ultimae n. sp. from Pterodroma ultima, and N. (Guenterion) lessonii n. sp. from Pterodroma lessonii. The genus Naubates is subdivided into two subgenera: the subgenus Naubates sensu stricto containing three species, and the new subgenus Guenterion n. sg. containing seven species. Keys, together with measurements and illustrations, are provided to both male and female adults of all…

An annotated checklist of parasitic lice (Insecta: Phthiraptera) from the Galápagos Islands.

A host-parasite list, and a list of hosts which breed in the Galápagos Islands but without lice recorded from them are included, and four lectotypes from the Kellogg Collection are formally designate.

Phylogeny of "Philoceanus complex" seabird lice (Phthiraptera: Ischnocera) inferred from mitochondrial DNA sequences.

Identification of parasites in Puffinus puffinus (Birds, Procellariiformes) from Northeastern Brazil

This study identifies parasites of 16 specimens of Puffinus puffinus that died during the period of June 2011 to December 2011 at the Wildlife Screening Center of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Natural Resources (IBAMA) in Cabedelo, Paraíba.

Associations between chewing lice (Insecta, Phthiraptera) and albatrosses and petrels (Aves, Procellariiformes) collected in Brazil

Chewing lice were searched on 197 skins of 28 species of procellariiform birds collected in Brazil, finding 38 species of lice and their host species, and some host-louse associations are discussed under an evolutionary perspective.

The lice of the Tristan da Cunha Archipelago

Summary All the louse species reported in the literature from the Tristan da Cunha archipelago have been compiled, listed and discussed, including five additional species records based on material

mes) collected in Brazil

Chewing lice were searched on skins of 28 species of procellariiform birds collected in Brazil and a list of lice species found and their host species is given and some host-louse associations are discussed under an evolutionary perspective.

The lice (Insecta : phthiraptera) of short-tailed shearwaters, ardenna tenuirostris, in Bass Strait, Tasmania

As part of the long-term research into Bass Strait's Short-tailed Shearwaters, this study aimed to confirm their current louse fauna, detailing the specific location, and collection method, to fill a gap in the primary literature.

Morphological, behavioural, and genetic evidence supports reinstatement of full species status for the grey-faced petrel, Pterodroma macroptera gouldi (Procellariiformes: Procellariidae)

It is demonstrated that the grey-faced petrel is sufficiently distinct in multiple facets of its biology to warrant reinstatement of full species status under the morphological, phylogenetic, and potentially biological species concepts.

Birds of the Kermadec Islands, south-west Pacific

The Kermadec Islands have only seven indigenous land birds, but retain a diverse seabird fauna, very similar to those of Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands, and recommendations for restoration of the avifauna are given.

A revision of the genus Harrisoniella (Mallophaga: Philopteridae)

Four species of the genus Harrisoniella Bedford, 1929 are recognised; 2 further species are placed in synonymy and a neotype is designated forarrisoniella ferox (Giebel, 1867).

A revision of the genus Perineus (Phthiraptera: Philopteridae)

Six species of the genus Perineus Thompson, 1936 are recognised, including one new species, perineus macronecti new species on Macronectes halli (type host) and Macronecte giganteus.

Amendments and additions to the 1982 list of chewing lice (Insecta: Phthiraptera) from birds in New Zealand

The total number of species and subspecies of bird lice recorded from the New Zealand region and the Antarctic Ross Dependency is now 301, with four further lice have been published as new species, and another identified and reported in the literature.

On some Mallophaga of sea birds from the Tristan Da Cunha group and the Dyer Island

A survey of all Mallophaga received from the Tristan da Cunha Group is given, adding a descriptionption of a new Austrogoniodes subspecies from the penguin of Dyer Island, Spheniscus demersus L.

The Genera and Species of Mallophaga

The present publication involves some criticism of Kellogg's list, but the main reasons are concerned rather with the plan of this list than with the few errors and omissions.

Some Osteological Notes on Procellariiformes

Some osteological characters of Procellaria, Adamastor, Puffinus puffinus, Bulweria, Halobaena, Pachyptila, and Hydrobates were studied in comparison with related species, suggesting their relationships, but are different from the shearwater type.

A check list of the genera and species of Mallophaga

A check list of the genera & species of mallophaga is presented, showing the diversity of the species recorded in the fossil record.
