This revision of the Neotropical predaceous midges of the genus Brachypogon (Brachypogon} Kieffer, recognizes 18 extant species, including the following 12 new species: Brachypogon (B.) apunctipennis, bitidus, bimaculatus, ecuadorensis, ethelae, ineularis, monicae, pseudoparaensis, schmiizi, sptuuliformis, ielesfordi, and woodruffi.
