The tribe Thophini is redefined. It includes only the genera Thopha Amyot & Serville and Arunta Distant, both of which are endemic to Australia. The Caribbean genus Uhleroides Distant is excluded from the Thophini and is transferred to the Zammarini Distant. A new species, Thopha emmotti, is described from western Queensland and a key to the species of Thopha Amyot & Serville is provided.
