The Nothridae of Australia hitherto consisted of the semi-cosmopolitan Nothrus anauniensis, Novonothrus flagellatus and an un-named Novonothrus species. This paper contains additional records of N. anauniensis and descriptions of five new species of Novonothrus, including immatures (N. barringtonensis sp. nov., N. coronospinosus sp. nov., N. glabriseta sp. nov., N. nothofagii sp. nov. and N. silvanus sp. nov.), a genus known from Australia, New Zealand and Chile. A key to Novonothrus is…

TLDR
Using specific collecting locality records, it is shown that Tropopterus beetles have been collected syntopically and synchronically with species of Glypholoma Jeannel (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae), Anaballetus Newton, Švec & Fiká Slovakia, Andotypus Spangler, and Novonothrus Balogh (Acari, Oribatida) to document a cohesive Nothofagus forest leaf-litter community.
New species of oribatid mites (Acari: Oribatida) of the genera Belbodamaeus (Damaeidae), Malaconothrus (Malaconothridae) and Nothrus (Nothridae) from India
Three new oribatid mite species, Belbodamaeus indicus sp. n. (Damaeidae), Malaconothrus macrofoveolatus sp. n. (Malaconothridae) and Nothrus phylliformis sp. n. (Nothridae), are described from Indian
A phylogenetic analysis and taxonomic revision of the oribatid mite family Malaconothridae (Acari: Oribatida), with new species of Tyrphonothrus and Malaconothrus from Australia.
TLDR
A phylogenetic analysis of 102 species as the basis for a taxonomic review of the Malaconothridae identified two major clades, equivalent to the genera Tyrphonothrus Knülle, 1957 andMalaconothrus, and these genera are redefined.
Catalogue and historical overview of juvenile instars of oribatid mites (Acari: Oribatida).
TLDR
The purpose was to gather the existing world literature on the active juvenile instars (i.e., excluding prelarva) of oribatid mites, to put classifications and nomenclature in a current context, and to identify the nature of the information in each paper.
ADDITIONS TO THE TASMANIAN ORIBATID MITES, WITH SUPPLEMENTARY DESCRIPTION OF EDWARDZETES ELONGATUS WALLWORK, 1966 (ACARI, ORIBATIDA)
This study is based on material collected in 2007 from water environments of Tasmania; eight species of oribatid mites belonging to eight genera and seven families were registered. Edwardzetes
Hotspots of new species discovery: new mite species described during 2007 to 2012.
TLDR
The type localities of new mite species described in two journals during the last six years were surveyed to detect hotspots of newmite species discovery to find increased efforts in discovering and describing new species.
