Resolver, an absolute position sensor, is commonly used in the severe environment because of its robust structure of rotating transformer. In this paper, a resolver algorithm mainly developed in the controller is proposed. The rotor speed and position are calculated from the sine and cosine resolver signals. The vector controlled drive of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using resolver is focused.
