Geophysical methods, and electrical resistivity in particular, have well-elaborated techniques and proven efficacy in the prospection of tumuli. This paper presents a good example of the discovery of a rich 5th century BC stone tomb in a large tumulus using geophysical data. The tumulus had been investigated previously both with geophysical surveys and excavation, but without success.
