Exhaust gas from diesel cars has caused serious air pollution in urban areas. In this study, electrostatic precipitator (ESP) was investigated, with attention to suppress abnormal reentrainment for conductive diesel particles. A dust pocket has been developed, consisting of a metal mesh backed with a barrier discharge electrode. It was installed downstream of the collecting electrode.
