The genus Monhystrella Cobb, 1918 is redefined and an up‐to‐date list of its species is given. Illustrated keys to both females and males of the species are provided, including the description of the most important characteristics for each species.
Redescription of Monhystrella parvella (Filipjev) comb.n. (Nematoda, Monhysteridae)
The type of material ofMonhystrella parvella (Filipjev, 1931) comb.n. from Abyssinia (Ethiopia) is redescribed and figured in detail. Data on the genital system and the ontogeny of this species are
State of the art of the free-living marine Monhysteridae (Nematoda)
TLDR
This study proposes to transfer eight species of the genus Thalassomonhystera to the genus Monhystrella, to show the most important diagnostic characters to identify each genus and provide taxonomic tools for species identification.

New species of Thelonema, Metasphaerolaimus, and Monhystrella (Nematoda, Monhysterida) from Kermadec Trench, Southwest Pacific
TLDR
Three new species of the order Monhysterida are described based on specimens obtained at depths of 8081 and 9177 m in the Kermadec Trench, with the new species classified within the Mon Hysteridae, and not the closely-related Xyalidae.
Aquatic nematodes from Ethiopia II
TLDR
Eight species of the genus Monhystrella, six of which are new to science, are described from bottom samples collected from three lakes, two rivers and a hot spring in Ethiopia, with the presence of a hyaline coelomocyte next to the germinal zone of the reproductive system reported for the first time in all eight species.
Freshwater nematodes of the Galápagos
TLDR
Apart from the two new species, the other ones have a wide to very wide distribution (cosmopolitan, southern hemisphere, ...), so that endemism of freshwater nematodes is very low, if it exists at all.
Nematode assemblages from the Kandalaksha Depression (White Sea, 251–288 m water depth)
TLDR
Diversity of the nematodes of the Kandalaksha Depression was lower than in the temperate and Arctic continental shelf and slope with reduced evenness and species richness, and the evenness of nematode assemblages and other diversity indices decreased with increasing sediment depth.
Nematode communities of Lake Tana and other inland water bodies of Ethiopia
TLDR
Free-living nematodes from littoral benthic sediments of four lakes, two rivers and a hot spring in Ethiopia are studied and variations with the considered environmental factors viz. site, water depth, sediment depth, median grain size and percentage of mud in the sediment are associated.
