Despite the fact that 15–20 % of sarcomas occur in the head and neck and 80 % in adults, only 0.014 % of leiomyosarcomas develop in the thyroid gland level. To the best of our knowledge, only 17 cases have been reported worldwide [1]. Leiomyosarcomas are difficult to diagnose preoperatively.
