Staphylococcus aureus is an important causative organism for skin and soft tissue infection, which presents with the classical local signs of acute inflammation. Staphylococcal abscess without signs of inflammation (staphylococcal cold abscess) is a very rare entity, sometimes seen in immunocompromised host.
