The present study reports the first data on the occurrence of the mosaic leafhopper, Orientus ishidae (Matsumura) (Hemiptera Cicadellidae), in Hungary. The species is of eastern Palaearctic origin and a few years after its first detection in the western Palaearctic it has been reported from several European countries.
