Persistent hyperparathyroidism (HPT) after kidney transplantation (KTx) is associated with hypercalcemia, hypophosphatemia and abnormally high levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH). In this randomized trial, cinacalcet was compared to placebo for the treatment of hypercalcemia in adult patients with persistent HPT after KTx.
