Following the dynamic subgrid‐scale (SGS) modeling developed by Germano et al. [Phys. Fluids A 3, 1760 (1991)] and Lilly [Phys. Fluids A 4, 633 (1992)], a multidimensional statistical‐dynamic closure method for the linear or nonlinear anisotropic representation of the SGS stresses is proposed.
