Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) are frequently used to high performance applications. Accurate diagnosis of small faults can significantly improve system availability and reliability. This paper proposes a new scheme for the automatic diagnosis of interturn short circuit faults in PMSM stator windings.
