In this paper, we introduce a new type of matter that has origin in p-adic strings, i.e., strings with a p-adic worldsheet. We investigate some properties of this p-adic matter, in particular its cosmological aspects. We start with crossing symmetric scattering amplitudes for p-adic open strings and related effective nonlocal and nonlinear Lagrangian which describes tachyon dynamics at the tree level. Then, we make a slight modification of this Lagrangian and obtain a new Lagrangian for non…

On the Schwarzschild-de Sitter metric of nonlocal de Sitter gravity

. Earlier constructed a simple nonlocal de Sitter gravity model has a cosmological solution in a very good agreement with astronomical observations. In this paper, we continue the investigation of

Emergent quantum mechanics of the event-universe, quantization of events via Denrographic Hologram Theory

. Quantum mechanics (QM) is derived based on a universe composed solely of events , for example, outcomes of observables. Such an event universe is represented by a dendrogram (a finite tree) and in

Dendrographic Hologram Theory: Predictability of Relational Dynamics of the Event Universe and the Emergence of Time Arrow

The complexity measure from particle shape dynamics, which was shown to increase in both directions away from a Janus point and thus determine the arrow of time in symmetrical manner, is used on dendrograms to demonstrate the emergence of a time arrow from the p-adic zero-dimensional field, where space and time are absent.

Towards p-Adic Matter in the Universe

Starting from p-adic string theory with tachyons, we introduce a new kind of non-tachyonic matter which may play an important role in evolution of the Universe. This matter retains nonlocal and

p-adic inflation

We construct approximate inflationary solutions rolling away from the unstable maximum of p-adic string theory, a nonlocal theory with derivatives of all orders. Novel features include the existence

Using the effective scalar field theory of the p-adic string, we show the equivalence of two previously derived sets of classical Feynman rules: one by the present authors, the other by Brekke et al.

Nonlocal String Tachyon as a Model for Cosmological Dark Energy

There are many different phenomenological models describing the cosmological dark energy and accelerating Universe by choosing adjustable functions. In this paper we consider a specific model of

On Exact Tachyon Potential in Open String Field Theory

In these notes we revisit the tachyon lagrangian in the open string field theory using background independent approach of Witten from 1992. We claim that the tree level lagrangian (up to second order

On p-adic string amplitudes in the limit p approaches to one

A bstractIn this article we discuss the limit p approaches to one of tree-level p-adic open string amplitudes and its connections with the topological zeta functions. There is empirical evidence that
