ITU-R BS.1387 states a method for objective assessment of perceived audio quality. This Recommendation, known also as PEAQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Audio Quality) is based on a psychoacoustic model of the human ear and was standardized by the International Telecommunications Union as an alternative to subjective tests, which are expensive and time-consuming processes. PEAQ combines various physiological and psycho-acoustical properties of the human ear to give a measure of the quality…
On objective assessment of audio quality — A review
This paper includes a brief summary of the development of intrusive and non-intrusive audio quality assessment algorithms and outlines recent advancements, especially some new topics to be investigated presently.

considering a) that Recommendations ITU-R BT.500, ITU-R BS.562, ITU-R BT.710 and ITU-R BT.811 have established some methods for assessing subjective quality of audio and video systems; b) that
A Perceptual Audio Quality Measure Based on a Psychoacoustic Sound Representation
A general method for predicting the subjectivity quality of speech codecs has been developed. This method uses the concept of an internal sound representation. A model of the human auditory system is
A New Perceptual Quality Measure for Bit-Rate Reduced Audio
A filter bank based perceptual model is presented, which yields better temporal resolution than FFT-based approaches and thus allows a more precise modelling of preand post-masking and a refined analysis of the envelopes within each filter channel.

The energy equalization quality metric (EEQM) is described for predicting the relative perceptual performance of the different coding algorithms and its predictive ability is compared with that of ITU Recommendation ITU-R BS.
Estimating Perceptual Audio System Quality Using PEAQ Algorithm
The idea of objective, computer based methods for testing audio quality is introduced in this work. Including some basic of perceptual coding, international standards and description of new
A Perceptual Model Applied to Audio Bit-Rate Reduction
A model of the human ear has been developed for use in perceptual coding of audio signals. As it predicts well-known experimental results, it is further used as an artificial ear in various
Pointer Adaptation and Pruning of Min--Max Fuzzy
A new technique for adaptation of fuzzy membership functions in a fuzzy inference system is proposed. The pointer technique relies upon the isolation of the specific membership functions that
Optimizing of Fuzzy C-Means Clustering Algorithm Using GA
The subtractive clustering algorithm is used to provide the optimal number of clusters needed by FCM algorithm by optimizing the parameters of the subtractive clusters algorithm by an iterative search approach and then to find an optimal weighting exponent (m) for theFCM algorithm.
