ABSTRACT A new unusual tapejarid pterosaur from the Early Cretaceous Romualdo Formation (Araripe Basin, Brazil) is described, based on a skull, lower jaw and some postcranial elements. Caupedactylus ybaka gen. et sp. shows the typical high nasoantorbital fenestra of the Thalassodrominae but lacks a palatal ridge, and shares with the Tapejarinae several features, including a downturned rostral end, allowing its allocation to that clade. Furthermore, the new species differs in having an…
A new toothed pterosaur (Pterodactyloidea: Anhangueridae) from the Early Cretaceous Romualdo Formation, NE Brazil.
TLDR
The lateral surface of the premaxillary crest shows grooves and tridimensional structures that may have housed blood vessels in the Anhangueridae from the Araripe Basin described.
A Basal Tapejarine (Pterosauria; Pterodactyloidea; Tapejaridae) from the Crato Formation, Early Cretaceous of Brazil
TLDR
A three-dimensional and almost complete pterosaur mandible from the Crato Formation, Araripe Basin, is described as a new species of a tapejarine tapejarid, demonstrating how their morphological traits probably evolved and that these forms were even more diverse than already acknowledged.
New azhdarchoid pterosaur (Pterosauria, Pterodactyloidea) with an unusual lower jaw from the Portezuelo Formation (Upper Cretaceous), Neuquén Group, Patagonia, Argentina.
TLDR
It is advocated here that Argentinadraco barrealensis might have used the lower jaw to obtain its prey by cutting or ploughing through unconsolidated sediment in shallow waters, a feeding behavior not previously proposed for pterosaurs.
A new toothless pterosaur (Pterodactyloidea) from Southern Brazil with insights into the paleoecology of a Cretaceous desert.
TLDR
A new tapejaromorph flying reptile is presented from this site, Keresdrakon vilsoni gen. et sp.
A new azhdarchoid pterosaur from the Lower Cretaceous of Brazil and the paleobiogeography of the Tapejaridae
The Tapejaridae were an apparently worldwide distributed clade of edentulous pterosaurs, being a major component of several Lower Cretaceous terrestrial faunas. Despite their distribution across
Short note on the vertebral column of the Tapejaridae (Pterosauria, Pterodactyloidea) based on a new specimen from the Crato Formation (late Aptian, Early Cretaceous), northeast Brazil
Abstract The Tapejaridae compose a pterodactyloid clade of pterosaurs that is one of the most abundant flying reptiles in the deposits of the Early Cretaceous Crato Formation from the Araripe Basin,
New Information on the Osteology and A Taxonomic Revision of the Genus Thalassodromeus (Pterodactyloidea, Tapejaridae, Thalassodrominae)
ABSTRACT Thalassodromeus sethi (Pterodactyloidea, Tapejaridae, Thalassodrominae) is a unique pterosaur from the Romualdo Formation, Araripe Basin (Early Cretaceous, Albian). A large sagittal cranial
A new azhdarchoid pterosaur from the Late Cretaceous Javelina Formation of Texas
