We describe a new trirachodontid cynodont from the base of the Burgersdorp Formation (Subzone A fauna of the Cynognathus Assemblage Zone), of the South African Karoo Basin. Langbergia modisei gen. et sp. nov. is characterized by circular to ovoid in outline upper postcanines and the absence of a maxillary platform lateral to the postcanine series. Apart from the new taxon, we recognize two other species of this family in the Cynognathus Assemblage Zone: Trirachodon berryi and Cricodon metabolus…

TLDR
It is suggested that the two reputed trirachodontids from China might be probainognathians that convergently evolved expanded postcanine teeth rather than gomphodontians.
A New Late Triassic Traversodontid Cynodont (Therapsida, Eucynodontia) from India
TLDR
Phylogenetic analysis places Ruberodon within the clade containing Gomphodontosuchus, Menadon, Protuberum, Scalenodontoides, and the multispecific Exaeretodon, which forms a sister taxon to E. statisticae and is more advanced than E. riograndensis and E. argentinus.
A new gomphodont cynodont (Traversodontidae) from the Middle–Late Triassic Dinodontosaurus Assemblage Zone of the Santa Maria Supersequence, Brazil
The tetrapod faunas from the terrestrial Middle–Late Triassic basins of Africa and South America are among the richest in the world, especially in non‐mammalian cynodonts. Despite the great abundance
Diademodon tetragonus Seeley, 1894 (Therapsida: Cynodontia) in the Triassic of South America and Its Biostratigraphic Implications
ABSTRACT We report for the first time the presence of the cynodont Diademodon tetragonus Seeley, 1894 in the South American Triassic. The specimen, represented by a fragmented skull and lower jaws,
A New Kannemeyeriiform Dicynodont (Ufudocyclops mukanelai, gen. et sp. nov.) from Subzone C of the Cynognathus Assemblage Zone, Triassic of South Africa, with Implications for Biostratigraphic Correlation with other African Triassic Faunas
ABSTRACT A new taxon of kannemeyeriiform dicynodont, Ufudocyclops mukanelai, is described based on a well-preserved skull from Subzone C of the Cynognathus Assemblage Zone, which are the youngest
A New Specimen of Promoschorhynchus (Therapsida: Therocephalia: Akidnognathidae) from the Lower Triassic of South Africa and its Implications for Theriodont Survivorship Across the Permo-Triassic Boundary
ABSTRACT The anatomy of a new subadult specimen of eutherocephalian therapsid, attributed to Promoschorhynchus cf. P. platyrhinus, is described from lowermost Triassic Lystrosaurus Assemblage Zone
REDESCRIPTION OF PLATYCRANIELLUS ELEGANS (THERAPSIDA, CYNODONTIA) FROM THE LOWER TRIASSIC OF SOUTH AFRICA, AND THE CLADISTIC RELATIONSHIPS OF EUTHERIODONTS
TLDR
A cladistic analysis of 32 taxa (two gorgonopsians, seven therocephalians and 23 cynodonts) and 96 craniodental characters places P. elegans as sister taxon of Eucynodontia, and indicates paraphyly for Therocephalia, with the whaitsiid Theriognathus identified as sisterTaxon of CynodontIA.
A New Nonmammalian Eucynodont (Synapsida: Therapsida) from the Triassic of Northern Gansu Province, China, and its Biostratigraphic and Biogeographic Implications
Abstract A new trirachodontid eucynodont, Beishanodon youngi, is named and described based on a well-preserved skull from Triassic lacustrine deposits exposed in the Beishan Hills, northern Gansu
A New Species of Garjainia Ochev, 1958 (Diapsida: Archosauriformes: Erythrosuchidae) from the Early Triassic of South Africa
TLDR
Garjainia madiba is the geologically oldest erythrosuchid known from the Southern Hemisphere, and demonstrates that eryhrosuchids achieved a cosmopolitan biogeographical distribution by the end of the Early Triassic, within five million years of the end-Permian mass extinction event.
Angonisaurus and Shansiodon, Dicynodonts (Therapsida, Anomodontia) from Subzone C of the Cynognathus Assemblage Zone (Middle Triassic) of South Africa
ABSTRACT Dicynodonts are the most abundant therapsids from the Beaufort Group (Karoo Basin, South Africa), and they have been used as index fossils to define most of the Beaufort biozones. Although
