A new subfamily of ichneumonids, Palaeoichneumoninae, is described from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia (Baisa locality) and Mongolia (Bon Tsagan and Kholbotu Gol localities). The new subfamily is intermediate between the archaic subfamily Tanychorinae and the Recent Ichneumonidae. It includes 12 new species, described in three new genera: Palaeoichneumon freja gen. et sp. nov., P. ornatus sp. nov., P. danu sp. nov., P. micron sp. nov., P. mirabilis sp. nov., P. tenebrosus sp. nov., P… Expand
A new subfamily of ichneumon wasps (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) from the Upper Cretaceous of the Russian Far East
A new subfamily of ichneumon wasps, Labenopimplinae subfam. nov. (Ichneumonidae), is described from the Cenomanian Ola Formation of the locality Obeshchayushchiy, Magadan Region, Russian Far East.Expand
Ichneumonids of the subfamily Tanychorinae (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia and Mongolia
A new species, Tanychora loki, sp. nov., and a new genus and species, Megachora sibirica gen. et sp. nov., are described from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia and Mongolia. The genus TanychoraExpand
Seven remarkable new fossil species of parasitoid wasps (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) from the Eocene Messel Pit
TLDR
Seven new ichneumonid fossil species and two new genera from a remarkable insect fossil site, the Eocene Messel Pit in Germany are described, demonstrating the need for a more rigorous approach in the taxonomic placement of fossil ich pneumonid genera and subfamilies. Expand
New ichneumonids (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) from the Lower Cretaceous of north China
TLDR
The absence of more advanced subfamilies (such as Palaeoichneumoninae) indicates a more archaic aspect to these Chinese assemblages as compared with Baissa, Zaza and Romanovka (Transbaikalia) and Bon-Tsagan (Mongolia). Expand
Ichneumonid parasitoid wasps from the Early Eocene Green River Formation: five new species and a revision of the known fauna (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae)
TLDR
Two new fossil genera and five new species of Ichneumonidae from the Eocene Green River Formation are described and the importance of careful taxonomic placement of fossils and difficulties in ichneumonid palaeontology caused by host-related homoplasies and a lack of knowledge about the age of the recent subfamilies are discussed. Geometric morphometric analysis of Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera: Apocrita) with two new Mesozoic taxa from Myanmar and China
TLDR
Geometric morphometric analysis was applied to study forewing venation of 24 Cretaceous species of Ichneumonidae and the results are presented for the first time and confirm the taxonomic position of new taxa and relationships among these genera consistent with subfamily classifications. Expand
The first record of Ichneumonidae (Insecta: Hymenoptera) from the Upper Cretaceous of Myanmar
TLDR
The distribution of Ichneumonoidea during the Cretaceous indicates that CRetaceous ichneumonids were documented from localities at high latitudes while braconids were distributed worldwide, a pattern consistent with the distribution of extant ich pneumoniaonids and braconid. Expand
Ichneumonidae (Insecta: Hymenoptera) in Canadian Late Cretaceous amber
TLDR
The records of Labeninae are the first from Mesozoic amber, and demonstrate that the subfamily was present in the Northern Hemisphere in the Late Cretaceous, as opposed to their modern, predominantly austral distribution. Expand
New Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) from the Upper Cretaceous ambers of the Taimyr Peninsula
TLDR
Two new genera and four new species of Ichneumonidae are described from the Upper Cretaceous ambers of the Taimyr Peninsula, and the genera Catachora, Urotryphon, and Eubaeus are transferred to the subfamily Labenopimplinae. Expand
New Ichneumonids (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) from the Lower Cretaceous Khasurty Locality
A new species of Ichneumonidae, Amplicella minor sp. nov., is described from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia (Khasurty locality). The diagnosis of Amplicella mininae Kopylov, 2011 is amended.Expand
