A new species of armored scale insect, Unaspis mabilis LIT & BARBECHO, n. sp., is described and illustrated as the second species of Unaspis in the Philippines. This sucking insect infests and is currently considered a pest of lanzones, Lansium domesticum, trees although it may not be native to the archipelago. It is probably of recent introduction from other countries which serve as sources of imported larger varieties of lanzones fruits.
