A new poroid wood-inhabiting basidiomycete, Perenniporia nanlingensis, collected in Guangdong Province, southern China, is described and illustrated on the basis of three collections. Both the morphology and phylogenetic analysis of rDNA ITS sequences support this new species. Macroscopically, the new species is characterized by an annual growth habit, resupinate basidiocarps with pinkish buff to cinnamon-buff pore surface when dry. Microscopically, it has a trimitic hyphal system, slightly…

Perenniporiopsis, a New Polypore Genus Segregated from Perenniporia (Polyporales)

Morphologically, the consistency of the basidiocarps, waxy when fresh, drying rigidly osseous, as well as the large basidiospores characterize this species and distinguish it from Perenniporia s.s. nov.

New species and phylogeny of Perenniporia based on morphological and molecular characters

Three new resupinate, poroid, wood-inhabiting fungi, Perenniporia aridula, P. bannaensis and P. substraminea, are introduced on the basis of morphological and molecular characters and formed monophyletic lineages with strong support in P perennialiporia s.s. used in this study.

Phylogenetic analysis demonstrating four new species in Megasporoporia sensu lato (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

A comparison of main characteristics and an identification key of Megasporoporia sensu lato are provided and four new species are described based on materials from Australia, China and Malaysia.

Species diversity and distribution of wood-decaying fungi in Gutianshan National Nature Reserve

: Wood-decaying fungi decompose the cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin of wood by producing various hydrolytic enzymes, and therefore play a key ecological role in the nutrient cycle of forest

A comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of Grapsoidea crabs (Decapoda: Brachyura) based on mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) genes

A detailed and comprehensive view of the phylogenetic relationships of the Grapsoidea species determined by maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference analyses revealed that Varunidae should be monophyletic and Sesarmidae and Varuna litterata should be paraphyletic.

First Human Case of Pulmonary Fungal Ball Due to a Perenniporia Species (a Basidiomycete)

It is reported for the first time an intracavitary pulmonary fungal ball due to a species of Perenniporia that has not been recognized so far as a human pathogen.

An Updated Phylogenetic Assessment and Taxonomic Revision of Perenniporia sensu lato (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

In this study, phylogenetic analyses on a set of Perenniporia species and related genera were carried out using DNA sequences of multiple loci, including the internal transcribed spacer regions, the large subunit nuclear ribosomal RNA gene (nLSU), the small subunit mitochondrial rRNA gene (mtSSU) and the translation elongation factor 1-α gene (TEF1).

Species diversity, taxonomy and phylogeny of Polyporaceae (Basidiomycota) in China

This monograph provides a revised classification of Polyporaceae in China according to the modern taxonomy and describes twelve new species, two new genera and six new combinations, which are proposed based on the Chinese collections.

A contribution to Porogramme (Polyporaceae, Agaricomycetes) and related genera

The molecular phylogeny based on the internal transcribed spacer, the large subunit nuclear ribosomal RNA gene, the translation elongation factor 1-α gene, and the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (RPB1) demonstrates six clades are formed among Porogramme and related genera.

A new contribution to Megasporoporia sensu lato: Six new species and three new combinations

A phylogeny based on a 4-gene dataset of sequences (ITS + nLSU + mtSSU + tef) has confirmed the presence of four genera in Megasporoporia sensu lato: Jorgewrightia, Mariorajchenbergia,Megasporia, and Megaspora sensu stricto.

Polypores from Chebaling Nature Reserve,Guangdong Province

About 350 specimens of poroid wood-decaying fungi were collected from Chebaling Nature Reserve, Guangdong Province, and 103 species of polypores were identified, including Fomitella, which is a new genus to Chinese fungal flora and Perenniporia straminea, new to China.

Two new species of Perenniporia described from a lowland rainforest of Malaysia.

Two species of the genus Perenniporia are described as new from a lowland rainforest of West Malaysia and are characterized by the resupinate and usually sulfur-ye...

Wood-rotting fungi in eastern China 2. A new species of Fomitiporia (Basidiomycota) from Wanmulin Nature Reserve, Fujian Province.

Fomitiporia ellipsoidea sp. nov, collected from Wanmulin Nature Reserve, Fujian Province, eastern China, is described and illustrated. It has a perennial growth habit, resupinate basidiocarp,

Polypore diversity of Fenglin Nature Reserve, northeastern China

A high number of host tree species, lack of Pleistocene glaciations and favourable geography are the likely explanations to the observed high species diversity and level of endemism in Fenglin Nature Reserve.

The polypore genera Abundisporus and Perenniporia (Basidiomycota) in China, with notes on Haploporus.

The species of Abundisporus Ryvarden and Perenniporia Murrill (Aphyllophorales, Basidiomycota) from China are listed. A key was prepared for the 24 species so far recorded in the two genera from the
