A new species of cixiid planthopper (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea) in the genus Oecleus Stål, Oecleus sergipensis n. sp., is described from Sergipe State, Brazil. This new taxon is associated with coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) and date palm (Phoenix L). The species was detected in Auchenorrhyncha surveys to find potential vectors of lethal yellowing type syndrome. This is the first report of the genus Oecleus in Brazil. Sequence data from the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) barcoding…

A new species of planthopper belonging to the genus Oecleus Stål, 1862 (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Cixiidae) from coconut palm (Cocos nucifera L) in Jamaica.
TLDR
This new taxon is associated with coconut palm and was found while surveying palm plots with active cases of lethal yellowing (LY) and is the first report of the genus Oecleus from Jamaica.
Relative contribution of rainfall and coconut hybrids to the abundance and composition of the Auchenorrhyncha community as potential vectors of phytoplasmas in the state of Sergipe, Brazil
TLDR
Knowing about potential Auchenorrhyncha phytoplasma vectors on coconut hybrids could contribute to the development of strategies for use in breeding programmes for coconut LY prevention.

TLDR
A standardized and homology-driven groundplan terminology for tegmina types, structures and vein patterns in Hemiptera Fulgoromorpha, including fossils, is proposed and the concept of brachypterism is defined in a non-relative way independently from other structures, and the new one of hyperpterism is proposed.

TLDR
Arguments are presented for the merit of integrating specimen databases into the practice of revisionary systematics, and examples on how to achieve efficient workflows and data standardization, as well as data outputs and data integration.
