Aphanoblastella magna n. sp. is described from the gills of the heptapterid catfish Pimelodella avanhandavae Eigenmann, 1917 in southeastern Brazil (Paraná River Basin). This new species most closely resembles Aphanoblastella chagresii Mendoza-Franco, Aguirre-Macedo and Vidal-Martínez, 2007 described from a congeneric fish host in Panama, but can be distinguished by the shape of the accessory piece and shape and size of the ventral and dorsal bars. From the other species of the genus, A. magna…

A new genus and four new species of dactylogyrids (Monogenea), gill parasites of pimelodid catfishes (Siluriformes: Pimelodidae) in South America and the reassignment of Urocleidoides megorchis Mizelle et Kritsky, 1969.
TLDR
All five species of the new genus Nanayella are revealed to form a monophyletic clade within a bigger clade comprised of dactylogyrids of South American pimelodids.
Walteriella n. g. (Monogenoidea: Dactylogyridae) from the gills of pimelodid catfishes (Siluriformes: Pimelodidae) from the Peruvian Amazonia based on morphological and molecular data
On the basis of morphological and molecular data, Walteriella n. g. is proposed to accommodate the dactylogyrid parasites Walteriella conica n. sp. (type-species) from the gills of Platynematichthys
Trinigyrus spp. (Monogenea: Dactylogyridae) from Brazilian catfishes: new species, molecular data and new morphological contributions to the genus.
TLDR
Phylogenetic analyses based on partial 28S rDNA revealed that Trinigyrus, Heteropriapulus and Unilatus formed a monophyletic and well-supported clade of monogeneans from Neotropical freshwater loricariids, suggesting a closer relationship among these dactylogyrids and their hosts.
Molecular phylogeny of Cosmetocleithrum Kritsky, Thatcher & Boeger, 1986 (Monogenoidea: Dactylogyridae), gill parasites of Neotropical catfishes (Siluriformes)
TLDR
Whereas the 28S ribosomal DNA data resolved Cosmetocleithrum as monophyletic, the statistical support for the lineage was low, rendering its phylogenetic position between other Neotropical dactylogyrids yet undefined.
Bivagina Pagrosomi Murray (1931) (Monogenea: Polyopisthocotylea), a Microcotylid Infecting the Gills of the Gilt-head Sea Bream Sparus Aurata (Sparidae) from the Red Sea: Morphology and Phylogeny
TLDR
This work describes and taxonomically determines a microcotylid polyopisthocotylean monogenean in an important fish in Saudi aquaculture and confirmed the taxonomic status of the parasite recorded.
Seven new species of Urocleidoides (Monogenea: Dactylogyridae) from Brazilian fishes supported by morphological and molecular data.
TLDR
Seven new species of Urocleidoides from the gills and skin of nine Neotropical fish hosts (Anostomidae, Parodontidae, and Gymnotidae) are described, suggesting the effect of the dynamic process of ecological fitting.
Diversity of helminth parasites of eight siluriform fishes from the Aguapeí River, upper Paraná basin, São Paulo state, Brazil

TLDR
Three new species of gill monogeneans (Dactylogyridae: Ancyrocephalinae) are described from siluriform catfish from Iquitos, Peru, and Aphanoblastella aurorae is the only species of the genus that possesses an arrow-shaped sclerotized vagina and a medial process on the dorsal bar.

TLDR
This new species belongs to the genus Philocorydoras mainly by possessing a curved cirrus accompanied by an accessory piece attached by a conspicuous filament.
Walteriella n. g. (Monogenoidea: Dactylogyridae) from the gills of pimelodid catfishes (Siluriformes: Pimelodidae) from the Peruvian Amazonia based on morphological and molecular data

Two new species of Cichlidogyrus (Monogenea: Dactylogyridae) parasitizing the gills of African cichlid fishes (Perciformes) from Senegal: morphometric and molecular characterization
TLDR
Two new species of Cichlidogyrus are described from the gills of three species of African cichlids collected from the Gambia River basin in the Niokolo-Koba National Park, Senegal on the basis of morphological differences in the male copulatory organs (MCOs) and apparent similarities in the SSU rDNA and ITS1 sequence data.

TLDR
It is postulated that when a comprehensive number of monopisthocotylean species are described, genera and higher taxa may insensibly intergrade with cne another as segments in a continuous succession of species that differ radically only at remotely separated points.
