Amanita macrocarpa from Guangdong Province of China is described. The new species is a large, brownish orange to light brown mushroom, characterized by numerous pyramidal warts on the pileus, yellowish lamellae, a large annulus at the middle of the stipe, and amyloid ellipsoidal basidiospores. Phylogenetic analyses of the new species and related taxa based on the large subunit of nuclear ribosomal DNA (LSU) and the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences are provided. Morphological and…

Two new species of Amanita section Roanokenses with a radicating basal bulb

Two new species of Amanita sect. Roanokenses (Amanitaceae, Agaricales, Basidiomycota), Amanita alboradicata and Amanita fulvopyramidalis, are proposed here based on morphological and molecular

The family Amanitaceae: molecular phylogeny, higher-rank taxonomy and the species in China

One-hundred and sixty-two species of Amanitaceae known from China are treated in this study, including 50 novel species and 112 known taxa, and it is clear that Catatrama is closely related to Limacella, however, the phylogenetic relationships among these genera remain largely unresolved.

Amanita indogrisea, a new species of Amanita subg. Amanitina sect. Roanokenses from India

Molecular phylogenetic analysis based on nuclear ribosomal large subunit (nrLSU) sequences confirmed its identity as a new species nested within A. subgen.

Amanita griseofusca: A new species of Amanita in section Vaginatae from Malam Jabba, Swat, Pakistan

A new species, Amanita griseofusca in section Vaginatae is described and illustrated here from Pakistan and molecular data inferred from partial nuc rDNA internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), partial nUC rDNA larger subunit region (LSU) and partial translation elongation factor 1-alpha (tef1) confirms the novelty of the present taxon.

Notes on Amanita section Caesareae from Malaysia

Six phylogenetic species of Amanita section Caesareae are recognized among the studied collections, one of them is described as new, A. malayensis, and four of them correspond with existing morphology-based taxa.
