The spatial organization of microtubule (MT) arrays in the surface cell layer of the shoot apical meristem ofHedera was investigated by using a newly developed method. The method facilitates isolation of the intact surface cell layer in its original curved shape and allows subsequent processing for tubulin immunofluorescence microscopy.
